update 22/05/08 - All installers can now mod wiis lower than lah10216. If your console is under lah10216, i.e. a d2b modchip, it will only cost $55 on the day, not $75.

'D2pro 9 wire' is the latest modchip for the Nintendo Wii (as of May the 4th 2008). Its the 3rd modchip for D2c consoles for the same company. Why another modchip? Well the Wasabi modchip has been extremely popular for us, but unfortunately the wasabi modchip as a bug in the code or hardware (we don't know yet) that refuses to allow the modchip to work with about 10% of consoles. We can't really offer a mod service if the chance of it working it only 90%, we need 100%!

The reason the Wasabi modchip was so popular, is that installation consists of only 9 wires. 2 to power the modchip, 3 on the IC, and 4 on solder pads. The Wasabi modchip also allows you to upgrade the modchips firmware via DVD. Sounds good right? Well D2pro 9 wire is better.

Works on all D2C console
Upgradeable via DVD, and JTAG programmer. This means that you don't need to buy a programmer to update the modchip's SPI flash (where most of the code is stored). If you want to fully upgrade the Actel processor + the SPI flash, you will need the D2prog programmer.
Support from an active team of coders who have not copied wasabi code, they have built it from scratch and improved it.

The end user features are pretty much the same as any other modchip. 100% of backups, 70% NTSC games etc. However its a cheaper service and a faster more reliable turn around time!

We send the chip to them (Most of the time they will have the chip already in stock), they will contact you and organise a time and date that is suitable to you for installation at their workshop
Your Wii is modified by a professional. You pay the difference, which is $75, to the installer (64 + 75 = $139 all up for normal install).

This service if for un-opened consoles. If you have attempted installation, it is very possible that the installer will either charge you more for repair work, or refuse to install the chip in your wii.
