This is a Mini USB to Regular USB Y split cable. Some 2.5" HDDs suck to much power out of the xkey screen and the HDD will not spin up. There are 2 solutions. 1 is to enable MenuISO and use the device without the screen, the other is to use a Y split cable to get more power. The advantages of using the screen is that you can see what is going on all the time, you can also choose multi disc games (not possible using menuISO without screen) and of course the screen cannot be blocked with future updates like the MenuISO can.
Please note, this is a MINI USB cable (this is what plugs into your HDD). Super old HDDs do not use mini. New 2011 HDD use MICRO. and USb 3 HDDs use a special connector. If you do not have a mini usb connector on your HDD like the one below, this product is not for you
The extra USb cable plugs into a spare USb port (front or back of console) to provide extra power.
